Comment voir les FPS et autres statistiques de performances sur le ROG Ally
Si vous voulez voir les mesures de performance pendant que vous jouez, vous n'avez pas besoin de logiciel tiers. L'Ally dispose d'un moniteur système intégré avec un compteur FPS que vous pouvez activer en deux clics, peu importe ce que vous jouez.
Pour voir le FPS et d'autres statistiques système, appuyez sur le bouton Command Center sur le côté gauche de l'Ally et appuyez sur l'option Real-time Monitor. Vous verrez une petite boîte transparente apparaître dans le coin supérieur droit de votre écran avec l'utilisation du processeur, l'utilisation du GPU, les mesures FPS, la température et le niveau de la batterie.
Vous pouvez utiliser l'écran tactile pour faire glisser le moniteur en temps réel n'importe où sur votre écran, afin qu'il n'interfère pas avec le HUD de votre jeu. De cette façon, vous pouvez facilement voir votre fréquence d'images et l'utilisation du système à tout moment de votre partie.
Tout d'abord : mettez à jour votre logiciel et vos pilotes
Il est maintenant temps de commencer à améliorer ces performances. Le matériel ROG Ally est régi par une suite de logiciels et de pilotes affinés pour offrir la meilleure expérience possible. ASUS, Microsoft et AMD mettent régulièrement à jour ce logiciel pour que tout fonctionne en parfait état, et la mise à jour de votre logiciel peut même améliorer les performances dans certains scénarios. Vos pilotes graphiques, en particulier, sont souvent accompagnés d'optimisations pour les nouveaux jeux, donc si vous n'avez pas mis à jour depuis un certain temps, prenez le temps de tout mettre à jour avant de continuer.
Tout d'abord, ouvrez Armory Crate, accédez à l'onglet Contenu en haut et sélectionnez Centre de mise à jour. Assurez-vous que tout dans la liste est mis à jour avant de continuer.

Enfin, pour mettre à jour vos pilotes graphiques, appuyez sur le menu Démarrer et ouvrez le logiciel AMD. Dans la fenêtre qui apparaît, cliquez sur le rouage Paramètres dans le coin supérieur droit et recherchez les mises à jour du logiciel et des pilotes Adrenalin.
Passer en mode Turbo (et brancher)
Tout comme nos ordinateurs portables, le ROG Ally dispose de quelques modes de fonctionnement qui vous permettent d'ajuster la quantité d'énergie fournie à l'APU de la série Ryzen Z1 : silencieux, performances et turbo. Le mode silencieux 9 W utilise moins d'énergie pour une meilleure autonomie de la batterie avec un bruit de ventilateur minimal, mais ne fournira pas des performances maximales, en particulier dans les jeux AAA à forte intensité graphique. Le mode Performance 15 W offre un meilleur équilibre entre les performances et l'autonomie de la batterie, tandis que le mode Turbo 25 W offre une puissance maximale pour les meilleures fréquences d'images possibles. Pour activer ce mode, appuyez sur le bouton Control Center sur le côté gauche de notre Ally et changez le mode de fonctionnement en Turbo.
Vous pouvez également brancher votre appareil au mur, ce qui augmentera encore plus la consommation d'énergie en mode Turbo, pour un total de 30W et quelques images supplémentaires par seconde.
Si vous êtes un utilisateur plus avancé et que vous souhaitez modifier vous-même la gestion de l'alimentation, nous proposons également un mode manuel qui vous donne un accès complet à la gestion de l'alimentation de l'APU et à la vitesse des ventilateurs. Ouvrez Armory Crate, accédez à l'onglet Paramètres et sélectionnez l'option Mode de fonctionnement dans le menu. Sélectionnez Mode manuel dans la liste qui apparaît et vous verrez un certain nombre de curseurs et de graphiques.
Le curseur FPPT vous permet de définir la limite de puissance maximale, que l'APU peut supporter jusqu'à 10 secondes. Il peut maintenir la puissance jusqu'à la valeur SPPT pendant 2 minutes maximum et la valeur SPL indéfiniment. Réglez-les en fonction de vos préférences. Ensuite, si vous le souhaitez, vous pouvez ajuster les courbes du ventilateur pour qu'elles soient plus ou moins agressives en fonction de la température de l'APU. Notez que vos réglages manuels lorsqu'ils sont branchés sont différents de ceux lorsqu'ils sont débranchés, vous pouvez donc définir deux modes manuels différents selon que vous chargez ou non. Choisissez les bons paramètres graphiques

Étant donné que le ROG Ally fonctionne sous Windows, vous avez la possibilité de personnaliser chaque jeu en fonction de vos besoins précis. Vous voulez plus de fidélité graphique ? Pompez ces paramètres graphiques un peu plus haut. Vous voulez plus de performances ? Baissez-les et profitez de quelques cadres supplémentaires. Si vos jeux utilisent par défaut les paramètres Ultra, essayez de définir un autre préréglage tel que Haut, Moyen ou Bas jusqu'à ce que les performances soient plus proches de votre emplacement idéal.
Cela peut parfois être une danse délicate, et certaines options graphiques peuvent avoir un impact plus important sur la fidélité ou les performances que d'autres. Donc, si vous êtes prêt à bricoler un peu plus, recherchez des "paramètres optimisés" pour le jeu en question, et vous trouverez peut-être un bon point de départ. En fait, nous avons publiénos propres paramètres optimisés pour un certain nombre de jeux différents, avec plus à venir dans le futur.
Il y a un paramètre auquel vous devez prêter une attention particulière : si votre jeu prend en charge AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (ou FSR) dans ses paramètres graphiques, vous voudrez presque certainement l'activer. FSR rendra le jeu à une résolution inférieure (comme 720p) et l'augmentera à 1080p en utilisant des algorithmes de mise à l'échelle temporelle de pointe. Le résultat est une image qui conserve un haut niveau de qualité, tout en offrant de meilleures performances.
Lancez Radeon Super Résolution
Si le jeu auquel vous jouez ne prend pas en charge FSR, vous avez une autre option dans votre manche : Radeon Super Resolution, ou RSR.
RSR fonctionne un peu différemment de FSR, mais sert finalement le même objectif : il rendra vos jeux à une résolution inférieure, puis les mettra à l'échelle jusqu'à la résolution native de votre écran (dans ce cas, 1080p). Alors que la dernière version de FSR est un peu plus avancée, RSR a un gros avantage : c'est une fonctionnalité de pilote, pas une fonctionnalité de jeu, vous pouvez donc l'utiliser avec beaucoup plus de jeux. Ainsi, même si votre jeu n'a pas de FSR, vous pouvez activer le RSR et obtenir une belle amélioration des performances, avec des graphismes toujours plus beaux que les résolutions inférieures.
Pour activer RSR, vous devez d'abord configurer le jeu en question pour qu'il s'exécute à une résolution inférieure. Ouvrez le jeu, accédez à ses paramètres d'affichage ou graphiques, configurez le jeu pour qu'il s'exécute en mode plein écran et réduisez la résolution à 1280x720. Ensuite, quittez le jeu, ouvrez le centre de commande et activez AMD RSR. Relancez le jeu et profitez-en ! Même si le jeu indique toujours qu'il fonctionne à 720p, le pilote AMD le mettra automatiquement à l'échelle jusqu'à 1080p, vous offrant des graphismes plus nets et de meilleures performances.
Vous pouvez également activer RSR dans le logiciel AMD, comme vu ci-dessus, et ajuster le niveau de netteté à votre goût. Le logiciel AMD vous permet même d'activer automatiquement RSR jeu par jeu automatiquement.
Notez que cela n'affecte que les jeux qui fonctionnent à une résolution inférieure. Ainsi, tous les jeux que vous configurez pour fonctionner à 1080p dans leurs paramètres graphiques ne seront pas affectés, affichant un point d'exclamation jaune à côté de RSR dans la fenêtre contextuelle AMD. C'est le comportement prévu - lorsque vous exécutez un jeu en 1080p, RSR ne le mettra pas à l'échelle, car il n'est pas nécessaire de le mettre à l'échelle.
Ajustez votre allocation VRAM
Si vous avez un jeu lourd en VRAM qui bégaie pendant que vous jouez, ou un jeu qui ne se lance pas parce qu'il n'y a pas assez de VRAM, vous devrez peut-être allouer plus de mémoire partagée de l'Ally vers la VRAM.
Pour régler la réserve VRAM d'Ally, ouvrez Armory Crate et accédez à Paramètres > Mode de fonctionnement > Paramètres GPU. Recherchez le menu déroulant à côté de Mémoire attribuée au GPU et modifiez-le à la valeur dont vous avez besoin. L'Ally alloue 4 Go de mémoire à la VRAM par défaut, mais vous pouvez l'augmenter jusqu'à 8 Go ou l'abaisser à 1 Go. Ensuite, redémarrez l'Ally pour que la modification prenne effet. Faites passer les performances au niveau supérieur avec les cartes graphiques externes XG Mobile
